Coordinator of Christian Education

We have a consistent Sunday School program that is growing and Confirmation and High School aged youth.
Job Description: The Coordinator of Christian Education will serve Messiah Lutheran Church by overseeing education activities and curriculum for Sunday School. The coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation in concert with pastors and volunteers. Over time, the coordinator shall strive for an intergenerational education program amongst Sunday School students, confirmands, high-schoolers, teachers and members of the congregation with a goal of supporting Sunday school aged children in their faith formation and spiritual growth.
This position shall adhere to the Personnel Policy of the Messiah Lutheran Church
Job Position: Coordinator of Christian Education: 10-15 hours per week are flexible to meet the needs of the church based on planned activities and Sundays are generally required. With the opportunity for the position to grow in hours and benefits.

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the pastors to implement new programs to enhance and grow Children and Family Ministries. Maintain current awareness of curriculum trends and focus on enhancing Sunday School offerings and other faith formation. Grow children and youth programs into multi-generational programming. Develop new and strengthen current youth/family traditions.
