Judy and her husband Jim moved to Marquette from Saginaw in 1973. She earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree from Central Michigan University and taught elementary school in Saginaw Township and Fenton Michigan before moving to the UP. She also taught music, art and physical education in Skandia for the Gwinn Public School system. Judy has two adult children, Matthew and Dorothy. Both children live in Ypsilanti and work for the University of Michigan. Judy’s hobbies include spending time at camp, gardening, sewing, quilting, and reading.
